Boost Juice’s ‘The Big Banana Peel’ campaign was an ambitious digital-first competition designed to drive repeat purchases, increase average transaction value, and create brand buzz. With a massive $90 million prize pool and an interactive microsite game, the campaign successfully engaged customers, despite facing challenges from adverse weather conditions.
With a strategic media mix, including YouTube, Spotify, and outdoor advertising, the campaign aimed to rival iconic promotions like McDonald’s Monopoly while engaging with Boost’s Gen Z audience.
RESULTS
The Big Banana Peel campaign achieved outstanding engagement, with over 800K entries, making it Boost’s most successful consumer promotion to date.
The campaign drove upselling behavior, increasing the mix of Original size drinks to 76%, up 11% from the previous month.
Social media efforts also delivered impressive results, with 289K reach on Facebook, 125.6K on Instagram, and 345.7K on TikTok, driven by engaging influencer content.
The digital marketing strategy proved highly effective, with targeted EDMs achieving open rates as high as 71% and YouTube ads maintaining an impressive 63% completion rate.
